About Our Foundation
The "Loved by Lauren Foundation" was created to carry forward Lauren’s passion, compassion, and dedication to animals and the people who love them. Inspired by her lifelong devotion to rescue work, veterinary care, and her natural gift for comforting others, the foundation honors her legacy by supporting animals in need and providing educational opportunities that reflect her spirit of kindness, empathy, and love.

With Love, We Remember…
Dr. Lauren Semanchik touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and unshakable devotion to both people and animals. From a young age, she had a natural compassion that shone through in everything she did. At just 10 years old, she found comfort in her beloved cat Sneakers, who stayed by her side for more than two decades and became the first of many rescues she welcomed into her heart and home. Known affectionately as “Lil’ L,” Lauren was carefree, joyful, and happiest when she was surrounded by love.

Lauren’s curiosity and dedication carried her through her studies at the University of Wisconsin, where she earned her degree in Microbiology in 2013 and was honored for her academic excellence. She later fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian, graduating in 2018, and went on to make a meaningful difference for animals and their families every day.

Music was another source of joy for Lauren. She loved attending concerts, dancing freely to the beat, and filling her life with rhythm and laughter. Her creativity extended to her home and garden, where she poured her energy into projects with pride and passion. She had a rare gift for making people feel accepted exactly as they were, and she cherished her time with family and friends—especially her sisters, Deanna and Allison.

At Long Valley Animal Hospital, Lauren’s patients and their families knew her as an extraordinary veterinarian whose compassion went far beyond medical care. Her coworkers, who became dear friends, will always remember her thoughtful post-it notes and the calming scent of lavender that seemed to follow her everywhere. She also found purpose in her work with Lap of Love, offering comfort and dignity to pets and the people who loved them during life’s most tender moments.

To know Lauren was to feel her love, her acceptance, and her boundless light. She lived with passion, gave with her whole heart, and left an unforgettable impact on everyone she met.
